It's something that is much more personal and authored than the other pieces I'm swapping out. I can only hope others respond to it as much as I have enjoyed working on them. We shall see. I'm curious to see what the reaction is to the video elements. I've decided it's time to lean into the relationship side of this Substack a bit more, and I think that means no more hiding behind a coffee mug (as much as I like just being a bunch of words on the page). Happy New Year!
I’m excited for the upcoming changes. While not an “artist” myself by any stretch, I am a great appreciator of art in its many forms. I always come away having learned something and having a deeper appreciation for those things. Thank you for all you do!
Sounds like you were hit by creativity Cupid over the holidays, and we are the lucky recipients of that incident! Now I am jumping with joy and anticipation, looking forward to inspiring interviews and stories. Thanks for being here on Substack. It really is my oasis of sanity in these crazy times. I’ve given up on all mainstream media and now I only ingest things that I choose to let into my consciousness. Cheers and happy new year to you and yours and may we all flourish in this creativity bubble :)
I'm flattered to hear I add anything to your life in these crazy times, Judith. I'll do my best to keep adding something positive to that oasis. As for my current creativity, we'll see. I think I've mostly been inspired by the reciprocal relationship with readers here. It's pushed me to grow in unexpected ways that's probably been very good for my own mental health.
Just wanted to say a very happy new year to you, Cole, I’ve enjoyed your notes and articles for the past few months I’ve been on Substack, and I enjoy your writing and articulateness on the topic of entertainment. You write about some really cool shit, and I appreciate it.💕 thank you.
Oh, thanks for the lovely, lovely note, Sheila. I'll try to keep it up. Thanks for being here and part of the conversation about art I'm trying to have. Happy new year to you, too!
Looking forward to it. The mix of scriptwriting, art, music, and photography is great. Also appreciate the more personal aspects of some of your essays. Some resonate, some give new insights, all are welcome.
Songs to Live By sounds very interesting. Look forward to seeing what shape that takes.
