I should maybe give this movie another chance. I feel that the book, for being written by a former real estate agent, is surprisingly nuanced in a ton of ways and that the movie basically abandons all of it.

I think you may have had a poor experience for some external reason the first time around. I consider CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER one of the finest and most sophisticated action-thrillers ever made.
If the intention was to inspire me to revisit this movie for the upteenth time then you have succeeded, good sir! Awesome deep dive into why this sequence works so damn well. I know this movie did well when it came out, but for some reason I feel like it doesn't get the love that some of Harrison Ford's other iconic movies do.
