Hope it helps in some small way. I wish I'd read more of them to tell you which to begin with, but I'm still working through the films themselves.

I am currently on a tear through Hitchcock (50's primarily) screenplays. Enjoying immensely, especially when a (free) YouTube video of a key scene OR the whole movie helps me "read along"!

Also last year, enjoyed a great Agnes Varda retrospective at the beautiful old 30's Art Deco theater in Silver Spring, Maryland that houses the American Film Institute.

Cheers!

P.S. There is a hilarious UK Twitter site called @TheMoveCrowd that features a variety of offbeat, mostly British stuff from a ways back, and a great cast of Twitterati to comment!

This is great, thanks. I needed some kind soul doing this 20 years ago when I was scouring the internet for scripts to learn from.

Ever see that famous Burgess Meredith episode of Twilight Zone, where the world ended, and and all he wanted to do was read? That’s me with this list. 🙏🏽 thank you! Now, if only the world would end, so I could just get get to these

It's a hell of a read. If you've seen the film, I'd recommend listening to the SCRIPTNOTES episode with Nolan that recently was shared. It provides a fantastic lens through which to read the incredibly unique point of view he used for much of it.

I wish I'd had bookshelves filled with scripts like these when I started writing. I just want to make it a bit easier for the next generations of screenwriters.
