I wish I received more non-nature pics. We obviously gravitate toward sunsets and waterfalls and such -- they are beautiful -- but I want to encourage us to find it in less-obvious places, too. Cities are filled with them, even less-attractive ones. Long story short: thanks for the wonderful photo!
Love day 17, Lou Tilsley. And of course day 18, Bern Parker and Day 20, Cole. But I think my favourite may be 22, Kathy Harms: the dog’s expression, and the red chair is just 😘
Hi Cole, thanks for these beautiful photos and for including the one I sent from the monastery. I see it's the centerpiece on your site too! Awesome to see the mountains through the cave window. Although I love writing, I think photography was my first love! I love the up close of the resting dragonfly, the Porto pooch, the pumpkin toilet, all of them are fabulous. You have a quite a collection of talented photogs as subscribers. Thanks for this post. HNY!
And thank you for your wonderful contribution. I picked it for the cover because of the sense it gave me at peering through a peephole at something bigger, something coming your way, which felt appropriate to a new year. It was also just stunning.
Yes, this is why I talked in my New Year's piece about how my brain was fracturing from too much time working and not enough time spent recovering. I'm struggling to be a screenwriter/novelist, journalist, and copy editor. In my defense, they have a song called "Winter" and I was writing about winter...so. Anyway, thanks for the catch!
You’re welcome. No judgement! I’m amazed at how much you do, so it isn’t a surprise that you’d have a minor error here or there. It’s a surprise there aren’t more! Glad I could help.
I must have missed the new year’s piece. I’ll go find it now.
Fabulous collection of photos, I think the best yet. And great soundtrack. That's a band to look into.
Thanks, Julian. I enjoy putting these together. A very meditative experience.
I think this might be my favourite selection yet. I feel very privileged to have my own contribution included with so many beautiful photos.

The soundtrack fits perfectly as well.

There was a lot of variety this month, which I really appreciated!
Please continue. Such great moments
I will! But please be sure to submit a pic or two yourself. I think it's important to push ourselves to find beauty wherever we can, and this is a great reason to do that. https://substack.com/@colehaddon/note/c-84612923?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=1mimd1

Great pictures! Love the song, too… all 3:13 of it. It’s called “Snow” though, correct? You wrote here “Winter.”

Some of it's rehashed, some of it's new -- discussing changes I'm making to try to improve the experience for myself, but also for readers. https://colehaddon.substack.com/p/welcome-to-the-new-year-and-a-new-61f
Portugal puppy! Beautiful composition, and charming. So much enjoyment and curiosity from that one photo.
Yes, I love that one very much!
Another lovely collection! Look forward to these every month. Little glimpses of other worlds.
I think the Porto pic is my favourite too.
Thanks, Tess!
Excellent choices... should I say so myself ;0). Thank you for including my photograph!
Happy 2025!
Thanks for your wonderful contribution, Søren. Please keep it up (and spread the word). I love curating this series.
Great title ("Seasonal Mood Disorientation”), great selection!!!
Thanks, Tom!
Outstanding selections! And 3 of them were not far from where I grew up in Pennsylvania. Thank you for curating!
Thanks, Sally!
Thanks for including my photo, Cole. It was a quiet Christmas, but a good one. Happy New Year!
Thanks for submitting. Please keep it up (and spread the word). I love this photo essay series. Happy New Year to you, too!
