Cole, thanks for providing these fragments of light and hope. Cary’s song is a perfect companion to the wonderful images. I wish you and your family the same light and hope that you put out into the world through your work here.
Thank *you* for contributing, Patricia. I loved the pic of your husband and your dog out for a wintry walk. And I'm glad it's resonating with you in a time of "darkness and cruelty", as I would also describe it. Beauty becomes an act of rebellion in such terrible times.
Cole: You needn’t search further than gathering up your family standing in front of a mirror.
I am amazed every time I see that you’ve posted, smack dab from the middle of such hard things. I am pushing myself to emulate this, and I wager that a lot of others you reach are doing the same.
I'm not sure if it's healthy what I'm doing, but I long ago discovered that my way of regulating during points of high stress is creativity and work. The more I can structure the madness around me, as I can when I write, the better I can keep it from taking over. The fact that I keep an incredibly detailed calendar and work ahead has helped...a little.
Thank you, Andrea! I'm posting another CTA today - for photos for the next edition. You should share yourself. I've gained so much from getting back into this habit with the community here.
Cole, thank you for including my photo from Utah. I was just looking at all of the pictures and for a specific one that a friend of mine posted when I came across my name I couldn't believe it. You can't wipe this smile off my face thank you so much.
It's a wonderful photo, Kathleen. I didn't hear back from you when I previously asked about your last name. I typically include them, so if you're willing, let me know and I'll edit it. Please do submit in the future. Your corner of the world is stunning!
I love that mug. I saw it as an ironic question about our age and a prompt to consider how hard it is to achieve that kind of good fortune, which probably means I imbued far too much of my own existential angst into it - ha.
I love it . I thought it was funny and would make a delightful contrast to my Alaska life. Also I was on the lookout for a new boat mug. This one is wide, heavy and has a low center of gravity. Perfect.
Too far from the Blue Mountains for a couple-day trip with our specific kiddos. We're going to visit regularly from where we're settling, as it's a quicker trip.
I really think I get the most satisfaction here out of curating this series. So, I'm glad it continues to resonate. It feels like they're only getting better, too, as the breadth of submissions expands.
This really is a beautiful collection of images of life. I had to play the song (great song!) three times through before I reached the end.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Sorry Cole. My last name is Hobbs
I agree Utah is very beautiful
Editing now!

Thanks, Glyn. I take a lot from this project. I'm glad others do, too!
Beautifully curated. Thanks for posting beauty in a time of darkness and cruelty.

Lots of beauty this month!
I really feel this is the best month yet. The contributions are getting more varied, so the stories they tell are evolving, too.
A beautiful collection of images.
I'm glad you enjoyed them.
What a beautiful collection. And in the words of Louis Armstrong: what a wonderful world.

This is incredible. Thank you for sharing this beautiful ritual with us when the world is so dark! And thank you everyone for sharing your moments! 🙏
And thank *you* for reading!

Such a beautiful series. Day 26 especially strikes me - and that library at Trinity College! 😍 Thanks too for including me, Cole!
Thank *you* for submitting. Please keep it up!
Ha! Thank you for this. I was surprised and laughed to see my photo included. I needed that . I am honored. ✌️&❤️

You rock, Cole
Thank you for including my photo from Italia.
No, thank you for sharing it with us!
Love these! Days 11, 15 and 28 were particular faves. Also lovely to see all the cold, snowy scenes as we head into another hot one over here.
God, I miss the snow...
No Snowy Mountains visits yet? I’ve never been, myself. Growing up in Africa meant no snow, essentially.

These have actually lifted my heart, particularly when combined with that lovely soundtrack. Mission accomplished!

I love this feature. Great photos!
Thanks, Sally!
