The deep water for me is the fear that my family recognises the not so fictional auto-fiction ...

I mean this with all seriousness: so what? I contend with the same. It’s your life, your experiences, your pain and joys - not theirs.

Of course you got the 'Bowie's earlier albums were his best' comment here, yawn 🥱 I hope that commenter didn't also 'hit like' on the post also which would kinda go against the grain of what 'The Thin White Duke' is saying about creative types. I like and agree with what he says but to be honest wasn't news to me yeah I know an arrogant statement but if you've been working at whatever your art is long enough this advice should feel like your own I inter monologue.

I came across this video of him last year when I was gearing up to begin publishing some of my writing publicly for the first time and really second guessing myself. It was a breakthrough moment for me. Thanks for sharing it, he was an incredible artist.

I’m glad he helped you. You might also find some gems in here. I think Bowie’s approach to art is incredibly educational.

Is there some way in which you're reading my deflated mind/heart and sending in the medicine? Thank you.

You're welcome. I'm an artist, so I'm just reacting to the same things others with creative ambitions are.

Is David Bowie correct in his assessment? Yes... but sometimes I want to have more of the same. I had every Bowie album through Alladin Sane but stopped. I loved him when nobody knew him because he took chances and sang about what people thought which risked his rise to fame. Bowie was so good he rose with Honky Dory and hit his apogee by creating the Spiders From Mars.

Then there was no longer Spiders From Mars and albums released with just radio play songs.

Bowie and Dylan can develop songs that seem to be created for covers and that part I totally enjoy.
