From the Muppets to Julie Andrews, to a multiverse of Scrooges and George Lucas's greatest shame, let's take a ride on the holiday nostalgia train together
This is a list of harder-to-find titles, whereas I can watch that episode on several streamers where I live. In fact, I've watched it a few times over the past decade on multiple continents. It's a brilliant one!
Thank you for sharing this. I watched The Mary Tyler Moore show back in the day but don't remember these Christmas episodes. Now I'm getting in the Christmas spirit.
I loved John Denver and the Muppets Christmas special; my mom still has our vinyl album, which we listened to on regular repeat.
The one Christmas special that my brother and I always bring up to each other is “A Cosmic Christmas,” an animated 30 minute short that ran in the late 70s, I think. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Cosmic_Christmas
Thank you so much for the keys to my Christmas time machine. This list and the need to watch these all again are even more poignant since I lost both my parents and my wife this year—all within five months. So perhaps watching all the classics will ease the ache a little. Thank you!
Carolyn, I am so sorry for your extraordinary pain. I understand what it’s like to lose parents, but they were four years apart for me. But what you’ve experienced is…I am without words and will not try to string any of value together for you. I’m just glad anything I did here might add a small bit of joy back into your life, or at least a warm distraction, during this tragic holiday season for you.
What: no "Blackadder Christmas Carol"? https://youtu.be/nfYx_013UuY?si=AHf1doPrTvZX3_hj

That's completely fair. (It's just not Christmas until we hear about Tiny Tom.)
Fantabulous list! Thank you for igniting my tepid Christmas spirit this season Cole and Happy Holidays to you and yours ;)
Happy holidays to you and yours, too, Judith. Glad I could help in any small way!
Thank you!
You’re welcome - enjoy!

I haven’t seen that one! As for the Denver/Muppets album, I own that on vinyl and played it just yesterday…
So good!!💕🎄

I watched the Star Wars Holiday Special for the first time last year. The 70's were a very strange time.
Brilliant, will definitely watch some of these, thank you & merry christmas🤗❤️🎄🥂
You're welcome, and merry Christmas right back at you.
Thank you. Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas!
I hate being the “what about this one” guy, but it’s a Jim Henson one that I never see anymore

Cole, I wrote this a few years ago, thought you and your readers might like it. My list of great non-Christmas Christmas movies (besides Die Hard):
