I've been looking forward to this once since you published the list of folks you planned to talk with!!

There's something so remarkable about Inside Out, that even years later, in a conversation, when you interview the writer about her story it evokes tears.

In my field, substance use disorder treatment, there's something incredibly powerful going on when we teach about being present with emotions.

I sobbed in the theater watching Inside Out. I didn't know how to name that many emotions. I wasn't as brave as Riley, either. I tried to draw that chalk circle around every emotion, and force them to stay put. I needed so, so, so much help to allow any of my emotions out to play, to teach me, to give me their incredibly valuable information. I had to learn to trust they wouldn't drown me. I had to learn to trust that other people might be trusted to help me understand my emotions.

Inside Out is an extraordinary gift, that I've received myself, and that I want to show everyone who wants to brave the notion that feelings themselves are also a gift. And a wild ride...
