What a fantastic conversation. I'm also feeling a similar nostalgia around sharing and community. I spend a lot of time alone, and whilst I have people that I message regularly or talk to on the phone, it's just not the same as sitting face to face with someone and delighting together in a shared interest or passion. I miss movie nights where the after-talk was twice as long as the running time. I miss walks around sculpture parks, silently sharing the joy with another human. Social technology has given us so many ways to connect with people we would otherwise be unable to, but it's also put an almost impenetrable forcefield around that most important thing you mentioned: intimacy.

I also really love Amber's perspective of "we can't unknow what we know". I was thinking about this recently, after hearing yet more dehumanising news from the USA. Yes, there are definitely things that are going backwards, but there is also so much evidence of gradual social shifts in awareness and understanding. Yes, they might move at glacial speed compared to the sudden, backwards jolts, but they are still very much happening.

This was genuinely a pleasure to listen to. Thank you to both you and Amber, and I really can't wait to hear what you both have to say about Legend!

Thank you so much for this wonderful feedback, Debs. I feel like I'm really zeroing in on what I want this podcast to be - which is one of the reasons why I wanted Amber to join me as a guest!

I loved this! I listened to the bonus conversation about Legend first, then came back here. This kind of conversation gives some brain and soul nourishment. Thank you for doing it.
