Actress Erin Cahill Is Counting Down to Another Hallmark Christmas

My dear friend helps me understand why the Hallmark Channel's holiday films - like her latest, 'Christmas at the Catnip Café - have become such a cultural phenomenon

Power Ranger – ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ agent – one of the best parts about Christmas. This week on the 5AM StoryTalk Podcast, I’m joined by actress (and dear friend) ERIN CAHILL. We’re about to discuss her life, acting career, and the cultural phenomenon that is Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas she’s been a part of for 10 years – including her latest film for the network, Christmas at the Catnip Café.

What do Hallmark Christmas films say about where our world has ended up? And why do they matter so much to so many?

What you’re about to listen to will hopefully answer these questions. It’s probably the most intimate one I’ve had here at 5AM StoryTalk, at least in terms of how well my guest and I know each other. The laughs are going to come pretty non-stop at points (which I hope you get a kick out of).

But we’re also going to dig into Erin’s unique spirituality, finding something profound in her work as an actress, and what the holidays mean to her. Can the arts be a life of service to something bigger in a way? Let’s find out!

A bonus episode with Erin Cahill is available, too, so be sure to come back and listen to that. In it, she and I discuss a seminal piece of art from her life — William Shakespeare’s “THE SEVEN AGES OF MAN” MONOLOGUE from As You Like It. You might know it as the ‘all the world’s a stage’ monologue. As a child, it changed how Erin looked at acting; we’re going to get into why, what it taught her, and where she is in her own journey through the seven ages. She even gives a soft performance of the monologue, the first time she’s delivered it aloud in decades (what a treat, especially as she heats up!).
